There’s something I like about every season, but I’d have to say that fall wins as my favorite. I love everything from the warm colors and cozy boots to the food and the scents of cinnamon, pumpkin, and pomegranate. Unfortunately our leaves don’t change color where I live, so I have to look online for photos like this one:
I finally had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season at my favorite cafe before school this Wednesday, and I even bought a pack from Starbucks to take home.
I’ve also been digging through Vogue in the past weeks and looking at all the beautiful clothing for autumn. My favorite trends would definitely be the grunge-revival looks, and the structured coats. (The photos below are runway shots from Fall Fashion Week this February, posted online by Vogue.)
The first photo is Saint Laurent and the second is Givenchy.
Of course, those are designer labels and super expensive, but I like using photos like these for inspiration.
Other than fashion, I saw this really pretty photo on Pinterest:
I would really love to do something like that in October or November. I’ve never seen a floral bouquet inside of a pumpkin before, and that bright arrangement really compliments the cool colors of the home’s exterior.
I also recently had the idea of baking brownies with Milk Duds in them. That isn’t really related to fall (maybe pumpkin brownies? Hmm…) but it’s something I’m dying to try, and I’ll be sure to post about it if I can.
Lastly, here are some books I’d like to read this fall:
- Allegiant by Veronica Roth (book three in the Divergent series)
- Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
- Oleanna by David Mamet (this one’s actually a play)
-Einstein’s Dreams by Alan Lightman (came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors, Erin Morgenstern)
Let me know in the comments section if you have any recommendations for books, stores, food recipes, music, etc.
